Harvesting a Better America i • | | Rubbed my eyes yesterday when I saw Hap Jacksun's truck in Biff Morgan's alfalfa field ... helping liid get in his cutting. Since they've been carrying on a friendly argument for years (over how much fertilizer to use per acre of alfalfa), I had to ask Hup whut was going on. “Got my own crop in safely last week,” he says, “And since Biff's boy is at the summer en- ■ampmentof the National Guard, 1 figured the least I could do was to help him out. After all,” Hap went on, “there’s mi argument over how important the Natioecu Guard is to all of us.” From where I sit, a fellow l«a* me, who's too old to get in tfc» Guard, can still vote, do a tunaac jury duty, and respect other-» rights.
