Mrs. Floyd Shulke, Mrs. Virgil Snook, Alice Snook, Joan Peters, Mrs. Robert Tunnell, Nadene Tunnell, Mrs. Clifford Fowler, Mrs. Pete Briones, and Mrs. Joe Peachey. i I Í i I 1 I 90-9 Men Plan Evening Rite The Ninety and Nine Men of the First Christian church of St. Helens will have charge of the evening service at the First Chris tian church in Vernonia next Sunday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. They will bring some special musical numbers with them. A. F. Van Slyke will preach at the morning service at 11 ( i o’clock. Floyd Ross of Portland preach, ed both morning and evening at the First Christian church last Sunday. He is a retired evan gelist of the Christian church. He and his wife will return to Ver nonia, on April 26 and hold both regular services on that day. Mr. Ross is an accomplished violinist and has promised to bring his instrument for a special musical number on that day. Oregon A simultaneous crusade started Wednesday, April 15, in 65 church es of the Baptist General Conven tion of Oregon and Washington (Southern Baptists). The revival is scheduled for 12 days. A rally was held Monday night in Port land at the Eastside Baptist church and a delegation from Vernonia attended, representing the local Baptist church. Dr. G. N. Ashley of Salemburg, North Carolina flew west Tues day to conduct the revivial at the First Baptist church of Ver nonia. Everyone is invited to hear Dr. Ashley who is a speaker of note and a preacher with a message for everyone. Services are held each evening at 7:30. The Christian Women’s Fellow ship is planning a salmon dinner May 8 for the benefit of the Yakima Indian Christian mis sion at Whit? Swan, Washington. The salmon will be furnished by the mission and all proceeds will go to the mission. Mr. and Mrs. Malcom Norment are the directors. The mission was established as a ' boarding 1 home for Indian children who are enabled to attend the White Swan public schools, but its services to the Indians now include a medi cal clinic, a used clothing store and a traveling Bible school which attends Indian encampments in . the summes, especially at Celilo I Falls during the fishing season.
