ORE School Program Presented Tues BIRKENFELD — The school will have its Christmas program Tuesday evening. The teachers, Mrs. Rawlinson and Mrs. Mar shall, are working hard getting the program together. Mrs. Adah Hoberg spent the week end with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gabrielson, in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thomp son and Gary were callers at the Jepson home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Jepson received a call from Delmar say ing he will be home the 29th. Mri. Jepson and Denny went to Portland Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stuve and Karen went to Forest Grove Sat- urday. Mrs. Don Jensen and Mrs. Cecil Elliott were in Clatskanie Thursday. Mrs. Tom Pidcock is helping out during the Christmas rush at the Piggly Wiggly store in Clatskanie. Mrs. Don Jensen spent Tues day with her parents in Tigard. Mrs. Ted Bellingham and Mrs. Art Bellingham were in Portland Friday. HZHZHZHZHZHZHZHZHZHZHZHZK Z H Engagement Announced At Dinner Party Mr. and Mrs. Carl Davis were host and hostess to a group of friends at their home at a dinner honoring the birthdays of Mrs Perry McFarland and Mrs. Silvia Turner, which occurred Tuesday. The guests of honor received a number of nice gifts. Others pre sent besides the host and hostess were: Perry McFarland and Bill Wolffe, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stuve of Birkenfeld. At this time the engagement of Mrs. Tur ner to Mr. Wolffe was announced. No tentative dat has been set, but plans are being made for an early spring wedding. Yule Party Enjoyed By Neighbor* Thursday Nehalem Circle, Neighbors of Woodcraft, met Thursday, Decem ber 18 for its annual Christmas party which began with a pot luck dinner at 6:30, followed by a program of Christmas selections. On the program were: A duet by Verna Johnson and Robert Weidman, piano solo by a guest, recitation by Barbara Keith, ac- cordian solo by Allen Ade. clari- net solo by Donald Shafer and readings by Mrs. Keith and Ina Marshall. Gifts were distributed after the program. Next Practice Due On Monday Evening The next practice night for those people who have enrolled in the new square dancing clas ses is scheduled for Monday even ing of next week, December 29. Announcement of the date was made Monday by Glen Hawkins, instructor. Circle Convenes at Parsonage December 17 Load of Trees Taken to Town i i i I TREHARNE — Ed Siedelman. Edwina and Gltn, took a truck load of Christmas trees to Port land Saturday. Mrs. Leaon Odam was hostess for the birthday club Christmas party at her home Thursday, De cember 18. Mrs. Syb Falconer and Mrs. Chari's Rager were guests. The club also had a Christmas box for Mr. and Mrs. Claude Weaver and children which was presented to Mu. Weaver after the opening of the Christmas gifts from under the tree. Some of the young people ot Treharne had a birthday party for Shirley Britton at her home Sunday evening. Those present were: LeRoy Thomas, Sp'ed Lusby, J. R. Kirkbride, George Snyder and Norma and Shirley Britton. Mrs. Marion Sicdelman and niece, Edwina, spent a few days in Olympia, Washington visiting relatives and on business recent ly. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Kirkbride and Rosalie attended the Christ mas Ball at the new high school gym Saturday evening. The gift exchange followed the business meeting and refresh ments were served by Mrs. Paul Sisler and Bertha Kirkbride. The next circle meeting will take place January 21 at the Weed home, weather permitting. TOWN TOPICS Mr. and Mrs. Chester (Bow) Bass of Portland are the parents of a bey born December 13. He has been named Ervin Chester and weighed seven pounds, _ix ounces. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs. Bruce Bass. Mr. and Mrs. Wally Kain end family from Beaverton and Henry Benson were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Messing. Mr. Benson is the com missioner yf labor for the terri tory of Alaska. Mr. and Mrs. Jewell Solomon of Agate Beach spent Wednesday at the home of his parents, Mr and Mrs. Tom Solomon. Mrs. Jim Hayes and children of Gaston spent Sunday at the home of her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hawkins. Mr. and Mrs. Albert SchalocK and Leonard Wilhelm spent Sun day visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. H Schalock at Woodburn. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Goodrich and Lawrence Anderson of Port land visited at the home of Mr and Mrs. Rex Normand Thuisday Mr. and Mrs. Marvis Taylor of Seaside visited his sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Oakes, a week ago Sunday. Mrs. Leona Taylor of Perry, Florida spent the past week visiting her daughter and fam’.y, Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Oakes. Mrs. Aasta Campbell of Wood land Hills, California is making an extended visit at the home of her son and family, Mr. and Mrs D. G. Campbell. Miss Betty Lou Frazee, daugh. ter of Marie Frazee, will become the bride of Larry Sutton at a ceremony that is being planned for this coming Saturday even ing, December 27. The rite will take place at 'the Evangelical U. B. church at eight p.m. and a welcome to attend is extended friends of the couple. A rec. ption will follow in the church social hall.
