PLAY GOLF 5 Your Community has a PLAN for Perpetual Forest Growth One look at the map above and you have dots before your eyes. And you can easily see what a “pain-in-the-pocketbook” lum bering could be for operators in your county if they had to “jump” their operations from private land to private land by-passing the Oregon-California revested sections. Un economical, expensive and not even plain horse sense! But there is a sound plan of operation under the federal law that allows operators to utilize the timber on the revested (black) sections. By making a “cooperative agree ment" with the Bureau of Land Manage ment and combining their own private lands under a cooperative unit they can operate profitably and permanently. Naturally, there is a responsibility on the part of private operators in this contract. They must agree to “log” their own private land on a "sustained yield" basis, rotation of areas according to growth, reseeding and adequate protection. This responsibility is a vital part of the PLAN to assure your community of per petual forest growth, of economic lumber supply security. Furthermore, this is the essence of a plan that is now in operation to protect you — your job, your business or profession. for complete Information on your community's perpetual, protective timber plan, write ...
