lima Thumb, grand conductress of the Grand Chapter of 0. E.S. of Oregon, paid an official visit to Lehakm Chapter No. 153 Wednesday evening, January 15 to conduct a school of instruction for the officers. Also visiting with Mrs. Thumb were Edna Throne, associate conductress of the Grand Chapter of Oregon, and Mary McClay of LaGrand, grand representative of Maryland. Mrs. Thumb gave a very in teresting talk on the duties of the officers and Worthy Patron Paul Gordon called on several of those present for brief (talks. The next meeting will be at the home of Mr. Alton Ashley on the fourth Thursday in February. The Cir cle donated $10 to the March of Dimes. Mrs. Geo. Jones, who has been ill for the past three months, was improved enough to attend the Circle at its recent meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wright were week end visitors of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Mathews and family. The C. L. Waddell family mo tored to Hillsboro Saturday for medical treatment. Clarence Brown resumed work on the highway after an absence of a few weeks because of ill ness. Mrs. Joe Roeser was a Clatska nie visitor Monday. Oscar oJnes was here from Sea side last week visiting at the home of J. O. Libels. Jim Jones was here from Vernonia also vis iting there. Mrs. Ray Garlock recently spent a few days at Sand Lake with her daughter, Mrs. Bern Bliss and family. Miss Olga Holmstrom was a visitor of Mrs. Geo. Jones on Wednesday. Mrs. C. S. Grey was a Vernonia shopper Saturday.
