Sundland were over night guests from Portland of their son, Donald, and wife. A stork shower was given Mrs. Lew Choates at their home last Wed. eve. Both the ladies and their husbands attended, the men playing cards, while the ladies visited. Many lovely gifts were presented and a delicious lunch was served during the evening. Thomas Enneberg was a Si. Helens business visitor the last of the week. They have sold Property Purchased Working at Miller's Mrs. Ernest Gwin has started work at Miller’s Department Store in place of Mrs. W .O. Livingstone who has resigned in order to aid Rev. Livingstone with the duties at the Christian church. Go to Longview Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Moon and daughter, LaRue, and son, Ted dy, and Mrs. Julius Stubbs spent last Sunday in Longview visit ing friends and relatives. Sale Planned The high school drama club is planning an activity for Fri day evening of this week when the members plan to sell pop corn and hot dogs at the Ver nonia-Rainier game. Mr. and Mrs. John Ellis have purchased the Virginia McMullen property which they have oc cupied since last fall. Back from Conference Rev. Allen H. Backer re- turned early last week after attending the Evangelical mid- winter conference which was held at Spokane. BULLETS <SET THEBE A Mother Here Mrs. Ella S. Backer is visiting with her son and daughter-in- law, Rev. and Mrs. Allen H. Backer. She plans to stay a month before returning to her home near Yakima, Washington. Health Improving W. E. Crawford, who moved to Roseburg several weeks ago to improve his health, is responding favorably and now feels much better. Plan To Move Mr. and Mrs. John W. Tate are moving to Portland where he will work for the Southern Pa cific. They plan to sell their home here and purchase a res idence in Portland. Wallace McCrae left Tuesday morning for Salem to be present at a meeting of the legislative committee of the Oregon State Teachers association. The com mittee meeting was held to re view what has been done by the legislature and plan for the re mainder of the session.
