Let's Be Sociable Mrs. Culbertson Hostess To Pythian Sisters Mrs. Harry Culbertson was hostess to the Pythian Sisters when they met on Wednesday, May 26. Refreshments were serv ed. Deborah Circle Meeting Postponed The meeting of the Deborah circle of the Evangelical church scheduled for Wednesday, June 2 was postponed. The circle will in stead meet next Wednesday, June 9 at the home of Mrs. Olinger. Masons Have Dinner, Bum Mortgage Saturday Vernonia Masons, affiliated bod ies, and their families Saturday night, May 29 witnessed the burn ing of the mortgage on the Ma sonic temple, and enjoyed a din ner commemorating the event. Honored guest was Fred BLack- mun of Corvallis, holder of the mortgage and also a member of the Masonic lodge. He was sur prised with a life membership in the local' lodge. Rainbow Girls Install May 24th At a ceremony held Monday night. May 24, Rainbow Girls held installation of officers for the new term. The ceremony was followed by a reception at which refreshments were served. School at Mist Ends With Picnic MIST—Mrs. Clark Fenton was an overnight guest of Mrs. Austin Dowling Wednesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Roper and Shirley Ann motored to Tillamook during the week-end and visited his mother who is very ill. Mrs. C. O. Hayden has recover ed from her attack of mumps. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. McGee were business visitors in Vernonia Tues day of last week. The school children enjoyed a picnic Friday as it was the last day of school. Mrs. Walter Foster was confined in bed last week with the flu but is up and around again. The C. Alexander family were in Vernonia Saturday evening. Mrs. Dora Reynolds and Mrs. Maud Rodgers visited Mrs. George Jones at Benson lookout Wednes day. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sundland of Portland were recent guests of their relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fenton came over from Silver Lake, Wash ington Wednesday. Mr. Fenton re turned the same day but his wife remained for a visit with friends and relatives. Moran went to Port land Wednesday to bring Patricia borne for a few days’ visit. John Titus has been down with flu for the last two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lindsa, spent Sunday and Monday with Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lindsay. Mrs. Mary Peterson spent a few days last week in Portland visiting at 'the George Halloman home. Mr. and Mrs. Noble Dunlap were in Portland Sunday. While there they visited with Mrs. Dun lap’s aunt, Mrs. Jake Dowler. Mrs. Mary Peterson returned home with them. Mrs. George Halloman came in from Portland Sunday and visit ed at the Dunlap home. He has been staying with the Joe Roeser family here. Mrs. Ed Reynolds came down from Vernonia last week and vis ited at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. O. Libel. The M.H.C. met Thursday, May 21 at the home of Mrs. Ralph George. The next meeting will be with Mrs. George Divine at Hazel Grove. Mrs. A. Dowling and Mrs. C. Alexander were in Clatskanie Tuesday. Mrs. Walt Batson and daughter, akery Closed Every Tuesday Knowles while his wife is away. Mrs. Acie Trotter and Mrs. Or ville Trotter were shopping in the village Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Noble Dunlap were Clatskanie visitors Tuesday.
