Thursday, Oct. 9, 1941, Vernonia Eagle, Vernonia, Oregon Dance Committee Chairmen to Meet— LE f’S CE SOCIABLE Auxiliary Begins Membership Drive— At the regular business meeting cf American Legion Auxiliary i.eld Monday night, October 6, plans for an extensive membership drive were made. The drive is to be con ducted in the foim of a contest between members living in town and those living in the rural sec tions of the district and will close October 20. Isabel Culbertson was named as Commanding Officer for the drive; Chiefs of Staff are Lola Nance, Cora Baker and Bessie Lincoln. The Artillary Captains are Bess Nichols, Pell Preston and Inez Powell. Ruby Biggs with out of town members as her privates is captain of tne rural team. Alvina Sturdevnt will captain the town group with town members as privates. Every mother, wife or daughter of a Legionna're is urged to become a member of the Auxiliary. Daugh ters under 21 are invited to join the Junior Auxiliary.
