LE r*S EE SOCIABLE Doris Rae Estey Weds Forestry Man— At an impressive ceremony read Sunday afternoon, September 7, at the Pioneer Methodist church in Portland, Miss Doris Rae Estey and Lucien B. Alexander were wed. Rev erend McDonald read the services before an alter of palms, white gladioli and blue delphinium. The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, E. H. Bixby, wore a lovely dress in basque style of ivory faille taffeta with full length train. Her finger-tip veil of illusion was held by a coronet of seed pearls. Uses and bouvardia made up the shower bouquet she carried. Miss Maxine Imboden, cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor; she wore aqua faille taffeta and carried a bouquet of pink roses and bouvardia. The bridesmaids, Miss Elizabeth Schalock and Miss Doris Weidman of Portland had dresses of dusty pinjc faille taffeta and also carried bouquets of pink roses and bou vardia. William Brembroch, ibrother-in- law of the bridegroom, was best man. The ushers were Gene Knutd- son and Henry Kline. Miss Joanne Nichols sang. Following the ceremony, a recep tion was held in the church social parlor. The Misses Pat Ramsdell of Salem, Wilma Watkins of Portland, and Joanne Nichols served. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander will be at home, following a week’s honey moon at the Hardt Apartments, 10th and Hall streets, in Portland, where Mr. Alexander is employed in the forestry department. F:rst. Fall Meeting Held— The first meeting of the fall season was held last Wednesday evening by the Nehalem Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Miss Myrtle Webb was her sister’s only attendant. Calvin Davis, brother of the groom, acted as best man. Following the reception, the young couple left for a week’s trip along the coast.
