own livestock have been lax in
complying with the Branding Laws
of the State ol Oregon. This law
13 for the benefit of the owners of
livestock and of invaluable assist­
ance to the law enforcement of­
ficers in the recovery of strayed
or stolen stock.
The Department of Agriculture
at Salem, Oregon, will record your
brand or $1.00 and the recording
is good for a period of ten years
beginning with the year 1940.
Poultry and turkey raisers should
alst have their birds tattooed and
record of the tattoo mark record­
ed in the same manner.

cincts were open for voters of
this portion of the county. She

without a license. The next was
the case of Jack Graney who was
charged with wreckless driving and
given a sentence of $50 and his
driver’s license suspended for 60
days. On the same day a complaint
was filed by City Marshal A. D.
Lolley charging Lester Sheeley with
being intoxicated in a public place.
A plea of “not guilty” was entered
and the date of February 8 set
for the hearing.
On February 5th Fred A. Tiede-
man was sentenced $25 and costs
for fishing without a license. The
payment of $5 and costs led to
suspension of the execution of the
balance indefinitely. On the same
day a plea of “guilty” was entered
by Cort and John Seidelman on a
complaint filed February 2nd by
Henry Glahn charging larceny. Cort
Seidelman was fined $25 and 90
days, the jail sentence ’being parol­
ed. John Seidelman was fined $25
but execution of the sentence was
uspended indefinitely. They were
charged with the stealing of a plow,
dehorning shears and part of a sack
of flour.
Also on February 5th a fine of
$5 and costs was given Gene Louis
