Second Well Reveals Host Days Celebration Plans Are

Object Made in 1938 in
First Well
Just a little over a year ago the
discovery of what then was thought
to be a prehistoric bone was made
at the George Baslington hame at
Treharne during the process of dig-1
ging a well. Announcement of the |
first discovery was made in the'
July 8, 1939 edition of the Eagle.)
Recent efforts directed to the
digging of a second well this week
brought the discovery of other
bones near those first found a year
ago. Mr. Baslington was able to
remove one of the objects which
was brought to Vernonia for dis­
play.
The bone is to be sent to Oregon
State College for examination by
geologists and a determination, if
possible, as to the prehistoric per­
iod in which the bone was a part
of some living animal.
