Announcement of the | first discovery was made in the' July 8, 1939 edition of the Eagle.) Recent efforts directed to the digging of a second well this week brought the discovery of other bones near those first found a year ago. Mr. Baslington was able to remove one of the objects which was brought to Vernonia for dis­ play. The bone is to be sent to Oregon State College for examination by geologists and a determination, if possible, as to the prehistoric per­ iod in which the bone was a part of some living animal.
