HELLION DAY IS UNDER WAY — -O— St. Helens - (Special) - Uff- der way only a few days, the race for Queen of St. Hellion days celebration at St. Helens, June 26 and 27, Is taking a prominent place in preliminary activities. Six princesses already are in the field, selling the buttons which admit the holder to all events at the celebration. Each button will count 100 votes in determining the queen. Unsuc cessful candidates will be prin cesses. Those entered are Lois Hewitt of St. Helens, for the Young Democrats; Pearl Peck of St. Helens, for the Eagles lodge; Sylvia Lindal of St. Helens, for McCormick's; Auselia Burgan of St. Helens, for Fir-Tex; Ger- trude Qualley of Scappoose, for Pacific Conserving diimpany; and Ellen Lowe of St. Helens, for the paper mill union. Candidates also will be en tered from Vernonia, Rainier, and Deer Island community. Mrs. Eva West and Mrs. Eda Lindstrom left Tuesday for Sea side where they will visit with their brother, Otto Malmsten, for several weeks. Mrs. Louis Boeck was taken to the Portland General hospital last Friday where she expected to undergo a major operation some time this week.
