CHRISTMAS PARTY HELD BY INTERMEDIATES Banking Grows More Complicated The Intermediate Christian En deavor society of the Evangelical church held a Christmas party in the church parlor Friday even ing. An attractively trimmed tree formed a part of the decorations and after several amusing games were played the business meet ing was held with Marjorie Hol tham presiding. Sandwiches, pumpkin pie and cocoa were served to the follow ing members: Marjorie Holtham, Betty Mae Austin, Junior Aus tin, Frances Childs, Virginia Yeo, Dorothy Nanr.an, Glenda Rose, Vivian Laird, Marguerite Laird. Erma Kent, Helen Scott, Leona Fetsch, Robert Williams, Dorothy Williams, Dorothy June Wolff, Maxine Scribner, Sara McGee, Betty Lee, Mildred Cason, Geral dine Cason, Floyd Rose, Jack Grainey, Harold Cason. As a special treat, Mrs. James Nanson presented each member with a bag of Christmas candy. The hostesses were Mrs. James Nanson, Mrs. Walter Kent, and Mrs. Dan Cason. DENVER, Colo.—The Increase in the technicalities of the banking business in the past dozen years was shown by a speaker before the American Institute of Banking which held its annual convention here recently when he pointed out that in 1918, when the institute last met ill this city, it gave only three courses, while today it gives 10, with more subjects in preparation. At the earlier date, ho said, the curriculum of the institute con sisted of elementary banking, com mercial and banking law, and money and banking, whereas today it consists of banking funda mentals, commercial law, negoti able instruments, standard eco nomics, standard banking, credits, investments, trust functions, ana- lyzing financial statements, and public speaking, while the two new subjects of bank operation and oragnlzation, and bank manage- ment are to be added. The Women’s Relief corps held their annual election of officers 18, and Thursday, December chose the following: President, Laura Sauer; senior vic e-pre si- dent, Beulah Baslington junior vice-president, Alma Sitts; chap lain, Dorcas Bays; treasurer, Le na Stanton; guard, Irene Spen cer; conductor, Emma Miller.
