The city of Vifle, over in eastern Oregon, is justly receiving financial aid from individuals over the state to help them clean up after the big flood of last week. Some 4000 head of sheep and cattle were killed and the town flooded as the result of • breaking dam. State relief is asked for. This is a more than worthy cause, it is an emergency. It ia far more important than is the case of a certain Portland Golf Club talking of seeking government aid in rid ding the golf links of mice, so th« women will not be afraid to play.
