Usual Reports Received From Cheese And Dairy Inspectors 41 INSPECTIONS MADE Association Telle Of Appreciation Of Cheesemakers Work Twenty three of the twenty-five directors o f Tillamook County Creamery association attended the monthly meeting held on Wednesday of this week. The usual reports of the cheese inspector and the deputy dairy and food commissioner were received. That of Mr. Tinnerstet, deputy dairy and food commissioner showed 41 inspections made during the month, of which three covered cheese factories and the balance cov- ered dairy barns and equipment this week. Some discussion was had of the condition at one of the factories wher some of the patrons use two sets of cans for milk, one set being used one day and another the next. It devel oped that cans so used were fre quently permitted to stand many hours after being emptied and be fore they were cleaned. It was or dered, upon motion, that steps be taken to assist the deputy dairy and herd inspectors to better this condi tion. With a view of maintaining the in terest which has been manifested by their work, and to secure cloesr co operation between the cheese mak ers and the dairymen of the county the following resolution was adopt ed: “That this association aprpeciates the good work being done by the cheese makers throughout Tillamook county; that the directors believe that some of the aspirants of the Tilla mook county cheese makers associa tion are meritorious and that thia association wishes for an enlarge ment of co-operation between this association and the cheese makers association; and that before the next scale of wages is set, it is suggest ed that a committee of cheese mak ers confer with a committee from this associatoin or with the whole board.” Secretary Carl Haberlach report ed on the present condition of the cheese market. It was shown that Wisconsin primary markets have dropped their prices to 21 cents the pound, as against 30 cents for the local product and it was suggested that it may be necessary in the near future to lower prices on Tillamook cheese. By motion it was ordered that the secretary use his best judg ment in the matter.
