lamook county bid fair to get better
prices for calves dropped in herds

ken the matter, in hand, and has al­
ready received many inquiries for
the offspring of cows of the several
breeds where the dam has a milk

SPUD THIEVES MONDAY NIGHT
Most thieves have some regard for
officials who hare the enforcement
of law In their hands, and if the
matter were not so serious to Judge
Goyne, County Prosecutor, the fact
that a thief or thieves stole several
sacks of potatoes from a storehouse
adjoining his residence Monday

Judge does not regard the matter in
a humorous light, and if he happens
on the thief, he will surely get what
is coining to him—legally at least.
Evidently the thief, believes the
Judge, lied an automoblje to carry
away the plunder, for he took sev­
eral sacks; of nicely sorted spuds,
which the Judge had raised and
stored away for nse until next sum­
mer. The thief made no noise, at
least not enough to awaken the
household.
Judge Goyne uya this is the sec­
ond offense of the Mme sort hap­
pening to him within the past two
years. He is thinking seriously of
getting a gun, and there is little
doabt he will use it. should the oc­
casion arise.
