9 I __ • L Times Bad in California I ’ nd ’ wife returned F D. Small and wife returned 1 from a trip to California recently r where they went to visit their son who is a student of tire University of California. Mr. Small states that conditions are much wosse in Cali fornia than in Oregon. Thousands of men are out of employment in that state and robberies and hold ups are of frequent occurrence in the cities of the south. Mails are guarded Ky U 6. marines to and 4 from trains, and many public build- ’n«B ar« al8° guarded by soldiers. Everybody, however, is looking for improvement in the spring, Mr. Small believes that Oregonians should consider themselves lucky in many respects, compared with Cali fornians, and was glad to get back to the land of mists and better bus iness conditions. His son Clair,, ex- pects to be in Tillamook about the middle of the present month for the holiday season. z------------- —---------------------------------------------------------- Tile Your Farm, It Pays j TILLAMOOK CLAY WORKS E.
