Everything about “The Barrier” is powerful—
Character, Plot and Incidents. It is “BIGNESS”
spelled with capital letters. The cast is especially
strong, including Mitchell Lewis, Russel Simpson,
Ed. Roseman and other stars of great prominence in
the “Photoplay World.” The scenes in this stupen
dous play are laid among surroundings of unusual
beauty and grandeur in the Far North, as seen by
Mr. Beach during his five years in Alaska, and con
cern men and women whom he met during his stay
among the mining camps.

Attention Knights.
------ o--------
Memorial Day, Friday, May 30,
1919, will mean more than ever be
fore. We have just passed through
the greatest war in the world’s his
tory. The young men of this nation
laid aside the business of civil life
when the call went out, left all that
was near and dear to them, and
marching shoulder to shoulder with
the Allied soldiers of the old world,
fought the battle for freedom on a
foreign soil. Many are lying upon
the bloody battle fields of France;
many are lying beneath the waters,
but where ever they may be they will
not be forgotten. It is only fitting
that wo should lay aside the business
of the hour, and upon this day pay
homage to our h,eroic dead, and to
those who have passed from the
peaceful walk of life. The members of
the G. A. R. soldiers of that victor
ious army of fifty years ago will
have charge of the exercises, assisted
by other fraternal orders. We there
fore urge that all Knights meet
promptly at the Hall at 1:30 p.m.,
May 30, prepared to take part in the
parade, and attend exercises at the
cemetery.
