NOTICE TO GERMAN ALIENS.
AU German Aliens are Required
to Register 4th to 9th February.
By proclamation of the President
of the United States, all Germans are
hereby notified that all natives, citi­
zens, denizens, or subjects of the
German Empire or Imperial German
Government, being males of the age
of fourteen years and upwards on
registration day, who are within the
United States and not actually nat­
uralized as American citizens, are re­
quired to register as alien enemies.
The dates of registration, within
the state of Oregon, have been fixed
by the Attorney General of the Unit­
ed States to commence at 6 a.m. on
February 4th, and to continue on each
<lay successively thereafter between
the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. up to
and including the 9th day of Febru­
ary, 1918, at 8 p.m.
All German alliens residing or be­
ing within the city and County of
Tillamook are hereby required to
present themselves for the registra­
tion at the nearest post office to the
Postmaster, who has been designated
by the Attorney General as Assistant
Registrars, and to complete their
registration on or before the 9th day
of February, 1918, at 8 p.m.
Any German alien, required to
register, who fails to complete his
registration within the time fixed
therefore, or who violates, or at­
tempts to violate any regulation duly
promulgated by the President of the
United States, or these Regulations,
in addition to all other penalties pre­
scribed by the law, is liable to res­
traint, imprisonment and detention
for the duration of the war, or to
give security, or to remove and depart
from the United States in the manner
prescribed by law.
Forms of registration affidavits,
registration cards, and instructions to
registrants, and other necessary
forms will be furnished by Postmast­
ers,

Garibaldi Red Cross Organized.
A meeting of the Red Crass

were present to organize the Garigal-
di Red Cross Auxiliary.
Eleven members of the Red Cross
were present. Following are the of­
ficers elected: Mrs. A. J. Baier, chair­
man; Mrs. Frank Crane, vice- chair­
man; Mrs. Sarah E. Hatch, secy.;
Mrs. Sarah Shearer, Trcas. Miss May
Powell, chairman of sewing c.mmit-
tec, and Mrs. Ida Bennett, vice shair-
man of sewing committee, were ap-
pointed.
At the meeting of the Red Cross
Auxiliary held at Mrs. Shearers', Jan
16-18, it was decided to have the
meetings at Miss Mary Powell’s here­
after, on Friday and Saturday after­
noons.
Work has begun in good earnest by
this Red Cross Auxiliary and shows
the spirit of the people of Garibaldi.
More people are joining the Red
Cross and more coining in to the
auxiliary. A good showing of woik
was passed at the last meeting, , al-
