Dear friends:—The phonograph so kindly sent to us by your organiza tion arrived at camp last Saturday evening. It is hard to find suitable words to express our appreciation of the gift. It is certainly a splendid ma chine and there is nothing that could be sent us that would afford us the pleasure and enjoyment of a good phonograph. We have placed the ma chine in the library tent, where it can be used by every member of the com pany, and needless to say it has had very little rest since its arrival. We are also very much indebted to the kind friends who contributed the rec ords for the machine and want to say that we are all agreed their judgment in the selection of records is hard to improve upon.
