TILLAMOOK HEADLIGHT, MARCH t-. 1917 ■ GOVERNOR NAMES HIGHWAY BOARD S Benson Ch°aen From Portland District. ------- o------- Salem, Or., Feb. 27.—In announcing the appointment of the members of the new State Highway Commission Governor Withycombc declared to day that with the personnel of the committee and the safeguards thal have been thrown about the proposed $6,000,000 bond issue to go before the people, he is strongly in favor of the plan. He expressed the intention of mak ing every effort possible to assist in bringing about a favorable vote on the question. .Members of the State Highway Commission named today are: S. Benson, a capitalist, road expert and philanthropist, of Portland. His appointment is for the district which is comprised of Multnomah County and his tenure of office is for three years. W. 1.. Thompson, hanker, of Feu illeton, and leading business man of Eastern Oregon. His appointment is for the Eastern Oregon district and his term of office is for two years. E. J. Adams, laywer and contractor, of Eugene. His appointment is for the \\ estern Oregon district outside of Multnomah County and his term of office is for one year. The fire occurred on the morning of she 10th of February and was adjust ed in your office on Friday the 16th of February and draft paid me in full sunt of $200000 insured under Con cordia Fire Insurance Co., Policy No. 7533 on February 26th, 1917; which was just as fast as the "proofs of loss' could be passed through the mails and the proper channels of the company. McCabe Musical Comedy troop is pretty busy this week getting the performers in shape for the spring opening of the troop wh'ch i. to be held at Cloverdale convention ball, Friday night.
