With the Exception of Bergmann’s Shoes.
As announced by our Special Circular distributed on Monday
last, we have been compelled to discontinue the practice of
giving Gold Bond Trading Stamps with every Cash
Purchase.
*
The Legislative Act which necessitated this change of policy
is considered by many to be unconstitutional and we there
fore advise all those possessing partly filled Stamp Books to
hold same until a test case arises, which may prove the act
unenforceable. Anyone having a tilled book or tilled books in
their possession may at any time have same redeemed af the
full value as heretofore.
In fairness to our customers and as compensation for the
change of policy, we have inaugurated a plan in which Every
thing in the Store is Reduced in Price (excepting Berg
mann’s Shoes), and whilst the reductions on some lines may
not be very great, on others it will amount to as much as 33
per cent., the average reduction being about 20 per cent.
You will thus readily see that we are making you a much
more liberal offer than that obtaining under our Stamp Giving
Policy and more especially when you fully realise that there
are included such widely known lines (the prices of many of
which are fixed by the manufacturer) as Hart Schaffner & Marx
Clothes, Arrow Shirts and Collars, Florsheim Shoes for Men,
“ Nemo” and ” American Lady” Corsets, Krippendorf Shoes
for Women and Wayne Knit Hosiery for Men, Women and
Children.
