Mrs. West, who is yisiting at the

The National holiday passed off
quietly in this county, a large num­
ber of citizens going to Bar View,
but owing to the frequent showers
it was not as enjoyable there as it
otherwise might have been.
An invitation was wired Governor

of the Tillamook Commercial Club
to visit Tillamook while the Third
Regiment is encamped here. The
camp is named after the governor.
There will be an excursion to Bar
View on Sunday, the train leaving
here about one o’clock, returning at
eleven o’clock. The Third Regi­
ment band will give a concert and
dance in the afternoon and evening.

Julius Erickson was bound over
to the grand jury by Justice Stanley
and his bond fixed at $1000. He is
charged with beating his wife,

in the hospital as a result of the ill
treatment she received, Erickson
was placed in jail, but, as released
upon furnishing bonds.
The hay harvest is backward this
year owing to the late rains. Some
of the farmers commenced cutting
the first of the week, but the rain on

siderable grass that is over ripe and
as the weather looks as though it is
going to be fine, the hay harvest
will be in full blast the next few
weeks.
