Previous to doing so thev had gathered together their clothes and silver ware, Mrs.Tv ler obtaining possession of a dress w hich was being made by a dressmaker on the excuse that she wanted to show it to a friend. The things were put in a trunk and taken away with them. It is said that when Tyler left he was loaded up and had a bottle of w hiskey. They drove all that night and arrived at Sher idan in time to catch the train in the morning. Tyler left the team in a private barn and it was several davs before it was located. As Tyler 'lid not return it created some uneasiness, and when it was ascertained that they had not gone to Mr Saling's, it suddenly dawned upon those who w’ere interested in his whereabouts that he had “Skidooed !’’ On Monday morning Mr. and Mrs. Saling came to the city, for they had stood good for w'hat Tyler owed the im plement house, about $1,6^0. It was t hen ascertained that the note held by Mr. Brodhead and two bv the bank were forged. Tyler had asked his father-in- law to sign several notes,but he declined, saving that he had gone security as much as he could stand and would not sign any more notes.
