Greenough Is President.
Thomas L. Greenough of Missoula,
Mont., has been elected president of the
Undid Railway« to sic s<-d W. ,L. Ben
ham resigned. Mr. Benham, it is stat
ed, will continue with the railway com­
pany in an official position.
Mr. Greenough is one'of the wealthiest
of Montana's mining men and one of
the principal owners of the Snowball
mine. He is a railroad contractor of
large experience, having built a great
deal of the Northern Pacific as well as
ha ring just completed a part of the north
bank
The election of Mr. Greenough to the
presidency of the United Railways has
set afloat many rumors concerning the
future of the road. It is already plan­
ning to esteod its lines to Hillsboro and
Tillamook and it ia rumored that the
coming of Mr. Greenough means the

tens’s. There is no confirmation of
this however.

At a recent session of the Board of
County Commissioners,at winch County
Judge F. II. Goodspeed and Commis­
sioners H. V. Alley and Geo. W. Bodyfelt

ty road, the viewers hating failed to
meet, County Surveyor Schrader, Alex.
Bain and Joe Wilson were appointed a
board of county road viewers.
In the matter of the petition of Bene­
dict Irndorf for a road, the same was
continued.
In the matter of the petition of S. M-
Batterson for a cour.ty road, the same
was continued.
In the matter of the petition of 0. A.
Lommen for a road, the same was con­
tinued.
In the matter of the petition of M. A.
Cady for the vacation of a road, this
was continued.
In the mailer of the application of
Frank Lusk for a gateway and public
easement across the land belonging to
Wm Saling, the court accepted the re­
port of the board of viewers, establish­
ing the gateway 31) feet in width, as
prayed for in the petition, upon the pay.

County Clerk was accepted, with the
United States Fidelity and Guaranty

In the matter of the deed of George
Ludtke and wife, the same was accepted
and ordered placed on file.
In the matter of the taxes of the Ed­
mund Hall estate, it appearing to the
court that the land Is in Washington
county, the taxes amounting to $104.15
was ordered refunded.
