Mills was a case tried before County Judge Goodspeed and a jury on Tuesday, in which the former sued to recover the sum of $200 he paid the defendant commission in a real estate deal, which fell through on account of the failure to borrow enough money to purchase a farm. When the deal fell through, [acsson wanted back his $200, which Mills refused to pay, for he claimed that as commission. J. Hembree, who was found guilty at the last term of the circuit court for murdering his dau ghter, Ora Hembree, a girl of 16 years of age, at Sandlake last Decern I wr, and a verdict of manslaughter was brought in. The jury stood 11 to 1 that Hembree had committed the awful crime, C. B. Hand, ley being the only juror who wanted to turn Hembree loose. After being locked up all night and part of the next day a compromise verdict was agreed upon, which was manslaughter, the penalty for which is one to fifteen years in the penitentiary.
