I passed away on Sunday morning at his home east of this city, at the age of 75 I 1 years, having resided in the county since 1876. Mr. Goodspeed was born in Gen esee county, N.Y., on December 30, 1829. ’ In ' 1856 he located with the family on a farm in Guthrie county, Iowa, and in 1 1863 crossed the plains with ox teams being four months on the journey. The first year pf his residence in Oregon he located in Eastern Oregon, and in 1860 he went toWashington cou. *y, living on 1 a farm near Forest Grove. In 1871 lie located near Salem, andin 1976 he c«me to Tillamook. He is the father of three children, Columbus Goods;>eed, living in Baker county ; Emma, widow of Aaron Weller, of the same county ; and County Judge H F. Giodspeed, of Til a n >ok county. Mr. Goodspeed was in feeble health for several years, his eve sight causing him a great deal of trouble. On Monday alternoon the remains were buried in the Oddfellows' cemetery, the religious service being conducted by Rev. C. A. Stockwell in the M.E church. Four Leaders that can’t be excelled.
