Quite a number of the dogs in the city have died from the effects of poison, and it is some of the most valuable dogs that have succumbed. If these animals were poisoned intentionally, it is a wrong thing for anyone to do. There are, how- ever, too many cur dogs in the city, some of whom would be a good thing to poison off, but to poison valuable and dogs that are used far sporting, is hurt* ing a good many men’s feelings and who would like to know who it is that is doing the poisoning. Senator Fulton knows the needs of the Coast Counties, so long neglected for want of transportation. He introduced in the senate last week a bill appropri ating $100,000 for building a dredge for use on the entrance of harbors along the Oregon coast ; a bill appropriating $50,. 000 for improving Tillamook Bay ; a bill authorizing the acquisition of the canal and locks at Oregon City for $600.. 000, or by condemnation, if that price is refused ; and a resolution authorizing a survey and estimate of the cost of a pro- ject for a 40-foot channel at the entrance of Coos Bay. x Married, on Wednesday morning, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Len Hiner, in thi9 city, Mr. Fred W. Christensen and Miss Kathryn Hiner Justice of the Peace Carl Haber Inch per formed the ceremony, after which the happy couple left for the home of the groom’s parents at Oretown. Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Christensen have the re spect of a large circle of friends in Tilla mook county, and who are held in high estimation, especially by the young peo ple, amongst whern they are very popu lar. They are both to be congratulated upon the choice of a partner in life, and which promises to be one of the happiest union of young hearts ever solemnized in »his county.
