On Thursday evening of last week,
while Mr. and Mrs. Robert Watt, of Bay
City, were coming down the Garibaldi
beach and when near Bar View Smith’s
place, they discovered the lifeless body of
an unknown man partly buried in the
sand, with a bullet hole in his forehead.
The remains proved to be a man who
came in on the steamer Sue H. Elmore a
week previous, who had been stopping
at Garibaldi, rooming at Postmaster

70 THE EDITOR OF TILLAMOOK HEADLIGHT
Amusement is one of features of life.
The babe in the cradle cries for amuse
ment, it wants to be diverted, its reali
zation is limited, so we give it a rattle
box, or trinket of some kind or other,
but when he grows older he wants some,
thing of more significance. Every decade
of life seems to have some amusement
appropriate, the small boy has his
pockets full of marbles, or he has his

stage of life. As we grow to manhood I
amusements seem to be divided, they are ,
either elevating, or degrading, and much
depends on our future life which we
choose. We know a man by his amuse
