GOODS ! At Colin & Co.’s Big Store. This is no time to sow the seeds of poli- cal discord or to cause wrangles or jea lousies between republican leaders in this county, because this one or that one did not get full credit, or all the credit for that matter, for the nomination of Bin ger Hermann. Those who are trying to cause another split and strife in the re publican party of this county have sinis ter motives in view—to vent their per- sonal spleen and to push themselves into the foreground, where they are not wanted. Whether we agree or disagree with those who went to the local conven tion with different ideas, the H eadlight is ready to admit that all were sincere in the course they pursued, but with the same object in view, that of Binger Her mann's nomination and election. Now that he is the standard bearer of the re publican party, surely it is bad politics and bad blood and the want of good common sense to endeavor to create fric tion and jealousies amongst republicans, and especially amongst those who have become leaders of the party, when there is only one object is view—the election of Mr. Hermann. Let good politics and harmonious feelings prevail in Tillamook, and the county will do herself proud on election day. Those who act otherwise are “political knockers,’’ trying to create hard feelings and discension in the repub lican party, are no friends of Hermann, no matter how much their “hot air'* boastings, but simply insignificant tools in the hands of those who are conspiring to defeat the republican nominee, and b\ throwing boquetts at one republican leader, and stabbing, in true Spaniar* style, another republican It ider in tin. back, tiiex are resorting to this contem ptible method to work out their politic.i schemes. pie, whose sole object is to pull down those whom they cannot run or control? We have lived long enough and seen eno ugh of Tillamook ¡icople to convince us that, give the little click that is opposed to the H eadlight , for political reasons, plenty of rope and it will not be long be fore they will run their little career and become just as unpopular as their prede cessors who thought they could do the H eadlight man up in business on “hot air’’ and spite work. Publicity And The Steel Trust. Quaint Features of Life. A comely young woman, trier! at Mar ion, S.C., on a charge of murder for killing a man to whom she claimed to have been secretly married, was acquitted by the jury and the judge of the court then imposed upon her a fine of $20 for carrying a pistol, contrary to the law of the state.
