The lat- ter theory appears most probable, as several pieces of the boat were found on the spit opposite bar view on Sunday. • It was not until Saturday that any un easiness occurred, although George’s family could not understand why he did | not return and became anxious about j him. When it was reported Saturday that a boat had drifted ashore at Bay City it was immediately thought that this was Handley’s boat. This was not j har.dley's boat, hut a search was imine | diately made for him, and Saturday even- ing pieces of the boat were found on the spit. This shattered all hope of finding George alive, although another diligent search of the bay was made on Sunday. Some think that the boat drifted to sea and was broken to pieces in the breakers, and it is probable that the body was j carried to sea by the tide It is a sad 1 accident to the bereaved family, and they ! feel their loss quite keenly. George was an attorney by profession and 27 years I of age and was married to Belle Williams | about four years ago, one child having I been horn. He was the son of Attorney , T. B.
