Smith’s Thursday. Mrs. Blair spoke to a good sized aud ience at the Brown school house on Sun day. Miss Lulu Bays is staying at Blaine at the present writing. Mr. Jay Ford has sold his ranch and moved out of our neighborhood. Mr. and Mrs. N. Coulson, of Coulsoti- btirg, attended church at Brown’s Sun day. , Mr. and Mrs. Bays went out to the county seat Monday. Sam Lucas arrived from the valley Sunday evening with his uncle and fam ily who have been out ever since the hop season opened. Mr. Jenson and daughters, of Hebo, came up to H. L. Jenson’s one day last week. Miss Edna Getchell who has been staving with her sister, Mrs. Chopard, for the past two inonths,has gone home. I). C. Getchell was up last week from Cedar Cr-eek to visit his sister. NETARTS. Ira Bradlev and family, of Forest (»rove, came in on Saturday last, and have moved into the Maxwell house for the winter. Chas. Hodgdon and young Lock wood went out to the Willamette Valley the first of the week, where they expect to work the coming winter. Lillie ami Marion Phelps came over from Tillamook Saturday. Eli Olds, of Tillamook, has been stop ing on the beach the past week. Still the campers come, although it is very late in the season, but Netarts has several campers yet. Execution of Czolgoss. A lbany , N. Y., Oct. 21.—Warden Meade, of Auburn Prison, spent several hours today in conference with Super intendent of State Pi isons Cornelius V. Collins, arranging the details for carry ing out the sentence of death imposed on Leon F. Czolgosz, the murderer of President McKinley, They went care fully over the 1200 requests which have been received for invitations to the elec trocution. There will be hut 26 wit nesses admitted, the law limiting the number. The prison physician will be assisted in the conduct of the autopsy by Dr. Charles F. Macdonald, ex-presi dent of the State Commission in Lunacy, and one of the greatest experts on in sanity in ti e country. There will be a number of other physicians in atten dance. Superintendent of State Prisons Collins is silent as to whom he will invite, but it is learned tluit the Sheriff of Erie County, within whose jurisdiction the crime was committed, will receive an in vitation. Because of the small attend ance that cun be had under the statute, there will be but a limited number of representatives of the press present. The details of the execution have been prac tically completed, and while the prison authorities guard with great secrecy all facts, it is thought the execution will take place before 6 o’clock on the morn ing ol Octolier 28, or if everything can- not l>c made ready on that dav, at a simi'.ar hour on the 29th.
