Tillamook People Spoiled ? Rats!
The Oregonian occasionally gives Tilla­
mook a complimentary mention, and in
doing so again last week quotes a re­
mark by a resident of this county who
says “many of its inhabitants are slug­
gish and do not work.’’ The Headlight, I
in behalf of the citizens of Tillamook, re­
pudiate such nonsense, and in proof of
this point to the rapid strides dairying is
making in this county, the people con­
verting primeval forests covered with im­ !
mense timber into dairv farms. Here is
a connundrum, then, "How the devil did '
this tranformation take place if it was
not by hard work and the sweat of the •
brow clearing land ?” Tillamook people
spoiled, sluggish and don’t work ?—rats!
Such an assertion is preposterous in f c-
