James Christensen living at Spruce in
this county, has handed to us the follow­
ing clipping:
STOCKTON, Cal., March I.— Peter Christen­
sen, a wealthy bachelor farmer, who died a few
weeks ago on his ranch near Waterloo, in this
county, left an estate worth upwards offiog,000,
and so far as known, no heir of his resides this
side of Denmark. Public Administrator Nor­
ton is in charge of the estate as administrator,
no will having been fnuud. It was known the
old man had a will prepared for him, but it was
thought it had not been executed.
Now comes the story that he made a will sever­
al years ago and left it with the late Judge Bald­
win. Since the death of Baldwin the document
was mailed to Christensen, and after lying in
tlie postoffice here three days, was s^iit to the
dead letter office and is in Washington.
Efforts are being made to get the document,
which itis said will give large bequests to old
friends of the eccentric miser.
