It has now been 32 years since the war closed, and perhaps as many have fallen since the war as fell in battle. Their ranks are thinned, ami they are getting fewer all the time They call each other boys yet, ami many of them would be anxious to fight for their country again should occasion de mand it. People in the eastern mid centrili states would hardly think it possible to have an outdoor celebration on the 22ml of February. However, it is possible here, and oftimes an outdoor picnic could be held on the 1st of January. The day was plea-ant here, warm enough to be comfortable, and no sweltering heat, such as has to be en dured in summer picnics in the eastern states. The A. P. A. was out ill pretty full force, tlie majority of them being in the parade. Most of them seemed proud of it, however a few looked somewhat Bin id and abashed, and a few did not show up in the procession, preferring to look on as s|>ectators. A good story, abounding in considera ble t rat li, is told regarding the raising of the first flag on the school house in the morning.
