Ex plosion of Giant Powder In the Out' skirts of Nan Francisco. S an F k ancinco , N ov . 19.—An explo sion of giant powder occurred ulxnit 7 o’clock this morning near the pesthouse, nearly wrecking that building, an«l destroying moat of the window glass in the city and county hospital. Two labo rers named Henry Barling ami Mike Sullivan were badly injured. The pow der was being used for blasting a new street through tow aril the bay. The cause of the explosion is as yet unknown. No deaths resulted, though there were several miraculous escapes and consider able loss of property. The explosion shook down some fencing, ami kmM*ked every window out of the tannery build ing in the rear of the pesthouse, and also broke nearly every window in tl e pesthouse.
