RESOURCES —The H eadlight ir devoted to the resources end ad
vantages of Tillamook City and County. It treat* overy locality
alike, ar.d is the paper to send to inquiring ftiends. It already has
a large circulation outside the county.
PROGRESSION.—The H eadlight is progressive in every way and is
constantly endeavoring to promote the intereats of the community
by advocating the establishment of railroads, harbor improvements,
mills, factories and other industries, road,, schools, churches, and
endeavors to secure a desirable class of settlers in the county.

the interests of the business men and residents ot this place by ad

greatly reduced prices.
INFORMATION —The H eadlight will keep yon posted regarding lum
bering, dairying, farming, stock-raising, fruit-growing, bee keeping
and fishing in Tillamook county.
CHARACTERISTICS.—The object of the H eadlight is to give a full
resume of all local and county news, and all county official affairs,
social and educational matters receive full attention. We have an
excellent corps of country correspondents.

UNDERTAKING
Will be carried on in connection and a complete line of undertaking
goods kept in stock.
REPUBLICAN.—Politically the H eadlight is uncompromisingly Re
publican, and will always be found using every honorable and
legitimate means to uphold the principles of the Republican party,
believing that party has done the most good for the country in tlio
past, and that it is safest to tru«» it in the future. We shall advo
cate straight-out Republicanism, however, as we have in the past,
not engaging in factional or personal quarrels.
^ hiickee D umber £} o ^ pany ,
( OF SAN FRANCISCO. )
AN AGGRERSSIVE POLICY.—Tl ic HE.4Di.lanT will, asit has heretofore,
handle county political questions without fear nr favor and in a
vigorous and aggressive manner. Those in public positions will
be held strictly accountable for their official actions, but petty pri
vate quarrels and escapades will find no place in its columns. The
paper will champion the causes o' the people in a bold and fearless
manner, as that policy is the most remunerative to the publishers,
as well as an enjoyable duty.
HERE TO STAY.—The H eadlight is conducted on purely business
principles, and expects to receive pay for what it does and give full
value in return. It does not ask patronage for charity’s sake, and
if you don't feel that vou are getting the worth of your money, do
not patronize it. This paper runs no “dead ad’s,” has no "dead
head” subreribers, pays its way as it goes, and expects those who
have business transactions w ith it to do the same. This is the only
way in which to conduct n newspaper and make it permanent and
successful. The H eadlight has a flourishing business and is on a
sound financial basis, hence it is under no obligation to anybody
and is free to cut as it pleases. Yet, it has a deep scuse of appre
ciation for the patronage it enjoys, and continue to Iry to merit all
the favors bestowed upon it.
ADVERTISING.
Our home advertisers will find that they get
as good rates as foreign advertisers, aud that all advertise
ments are made as attractive and effective as possible. They are not
crowded into remote corners of the paper by free adver
tisements We do no free advertising except

open to the inspection of our advertisers.
