Register for free presentation The Oregon Wildlife Her- itage Foundation invites you to learn about Oregon’s top pred- ators, gray wolves and cougars, as it kicks off its Dis- covering Wildlife Speaker Se- ries with a free presentation by state wildlife biologists on Wednesday, February 16, at 6:30 p.m. in Portland. Both species have a fasci- nating life history and their sto- ries will be told by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife biologists who study, manage and work with them. Tim Hiller, ODFW carnivore coordinator, and Russ Morgan, ODFW wolf coordinator, will discuss the life history, status and challenges of monitoring and managing the state’s populations. Admission is free, but regis- tration is required. Register on- line at the Foundation’s website www.owhf.org or call 503-255- 6059. The hour-long event will be held at the Billy Frank Jr. Conference Center of the Ecotrust Building in Portland’s Pearl District, 721 NW Ninth Avenue, Portland. The Oregon Wildlife Her- itage Foundation champions projects that benefit fish, wildlife and habitat for access, education and enjoyment by all. Since its founding, the Foundation has directed mil- lions of dollars in funding to fish, wildlife and habitat proj- ects. OWHF and ODFW work together to implement the Ore- gon Conservation Strategy, a blueprint and action plan for the long-term conservation of Ore- gon’s native fish and wildlife and their habitats.
