Wu seeks funds for school, city needs From page 1 school reconstruction, to re- place school equipment and supplies lost in the flood, for the city to repair and replace as- sets, and to help with the repair or replacement of the city’s wa- ter and wastewater treatment systems. These requests will have to go through the regular Congressional appropriations process. Wu concluded with special words for the seniors, wishing them well as they begin the next phase of their life and that he hopes they go to a commu- nity college or university. He went on to say that statistics in- dicate that people with four year degrees will make an av- erage of $1 million more during their lives than those who don’t, and will have a better chance of answering those life questions for themselves. Wu also met with city offi- cials during his visit, as well as sitting in on the first part of a regularly scheduled Oregon Solutions meeting. Oregon So- lutions is the team authorized by Governor Kulongoski to help find sites, plans and funding for rebuilding Vernonia’s schools.
