Stuck’s Diner is open 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day ex- Amy and Sue Stuck serve up warm smiles with good food. Warning: writer about to pun. If you are ‘stuck’ trying to figure out what to eat, try Stuck’s Din- er. Okay, pun done. Stuck’s Diner has been open on Banks’ Main Street since February 21. It’s only the first part of April and the diner al- ready has groups of regulars. The reason – good food, good prices, friendly service. Sue Stuck and Amy Stuck (niece and aunt, respectively) have worked together in restaurants before, with Sue cooking and Amy waitressing. Sue has been cooking since she was about 16 years old and last worked at Beaverton Bak- ery (yes, you’ll find some of their baked goods here). Sue and Amy knew they wanted to open a restaurant together and were looking for the right loca- tion when they came across what had been Maddie Kay’s in Banks. The owner was very ac- commodating and Stuck’s Din- er was born. You can find breakfast, served all day, lunch, and din- ner at Stuck’s Diner. The menu includes all your favorite break- fast items, plus burgers, sand- wiches, dinner specials, salads and pies. Catering is available and you can call ahead if you want your community group or organization to meet there. There is also a community board set up for local postings. Sue and Amy really like the sense of community in Banks, “People here have been really great to us. There are already a lot of regular customers and we have great employees (Kristina and Heather) and even a cou- ple of local students (Scott and James) working with us here,” said Sue. The Stucks have been working with Banks High School transition specialist Debbie Headrick and, as a re- sult, one of the first two stu- dents who came to work at the diner has been hired as a regu- lar employee. Future plans call for more dinner specials.
