We are grateful for all the support that we had during her illness. Larry and Gail Snethen F07/20 Obituary ALICE MATHYL KELLAR Alice Mathyl Kellar, 76, Forest Grove, died July 3, 2006. Mrs. Kellar was born May 6, 1930, in Castle Rock, Washington, to Enoch and Jessie Swanson Fredrickson. She was raised in Castle Rock. In 1949, she married Oscar Kellar. They made their home in Buxton. She moved to Forest Grove in 1989. She was a school bus driver for Schaffer Bus Service in Banks for 20 years until retiring in 1978. She was preceded in death by her husband and four siblings. Survivors include three sons, David, Keith, and Craig, all of Forest Grove; five siblings, Doloris Burns of Califor- nia, Darlene Warren of Klamath Falls, Ronald Fredrickson of Carlton, Richard Fredrickson of Florida, and Gerry Fredrickson of Sacramento, California; eight grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. Duyck and VanDeHey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MARK A. KIND Mark A. Kind, 53, North Plains, died July 10, 2006. A memorial service was held July 16, at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Portland. Mr. Kind was born May 1, 1953, in Portland, to Ralph and Dolores Kind. He was raised in Aloha. In 1971, he married Carrie Farrens. They made their home in North Plains starting in 1976. He worked as a Qual- ity Assurance Manager at Gunderson, Inc. since 1994. Before that, he worked for Union Pacific for 20 years building railroad cars. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Tony of Cornelius, Corey and Kevin, both of North Plains; his father of Vernonia; his mother of Helvetia; two brothers, Ralph T. and Milo, both of North Plains; one sister, Carol Smyth of Scappoose; and seven grandchildren. Rose City Cemetery & Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MARLEA LARAY LEFFLER Marlea Laray Leffler, 73, Warren, died July 4, 2006. A funeral mass was held July 10 at St. Frederic Catholic Church in St. Helens. Mrs. Leffler was born March 24, 1933, in Shelton, Nebraska, to John and Lula (Vohland) Bishop. The family moved to Dundee where she attended grade school. She graduated from Newberg High School. In 1950, she married Irvin Leffler. They made their home in Vernonia, un- til moving to Scappoose after raising two daughters. They owned and oper- ated Scappoose Flying Service at the Scappoose Airport for many years. Af- ter their divorce, she moved to St. He- lens and wrote technical manuals for fiber optics. She was preceded in death by a sis- ter, Colleen Yates. Survivors include her companion, Homer Stewart of St. Helens; two daughters, Lawayne McCann of Van- couver, Washington, and Sally Cani- paroli of Warren; a brother, Dick Bishop of Newberg; a sister, Adriene Bishop of Newberg; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. ROBERT ALLEN LYCHE was held July 17, at the Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home in Forest Grove with Chaplain John Cahill, of the First Baptist Church in Vernonia, officiating. Private Interment will be held. Mr. Lyche was born May 17, 1966, in Eugene, to James R. and Laura Ann (Dyer) Lyche. He was raised in Oak Ridge/Westfir area until his family moved to Banks in 1978. In 1995, he married Lisa M. Stone. They made their home in Forest Grove. He had lived in Vernonia for the past six months. He worked as a timber faller for High Ridge Logging, J & R Lyche Logging, and S & L Logging Company, all located in Banks. He was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include his wife of Mil- waukie; his son, Dylan E. Lyche of Mil- waukie; his daughter, L. Elyse Lyche of Milwaukie; his father of Banks; a broth- er, James T. “Troy” of Banks; two sis- ters, Deborah A., and Patricia A.
