Game raffle tickets on sale What better holiday gift for the hunters in the family than a handful of Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Big Game R a ffle Hunt tickets and the chance to win a special hunt? Raffle tickets went on sale December 1 at hunting/fishing license sales agents, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife headquarters in Salem, and many regional and district ODFW offices. The raffle hunts offered for 2006 include statewide combi- nation deer and elk, statewide deer, statewide elk, northeast Oregon deer, southeast Ore- gon deer, central Oregon deer, northeast Oregon elk, central/ southeast Oregon elk, western Oregon elk, bighorn sheep, Rocky Mountain goat, and pronghorn. Deer and elk raffle winners will be licensed to hunt a 91- day season, from September 1 to November 30, 2006, across multiple management units. The winner of the Bighorn sheep raffle will be able to hunt from August 12 to November 19, anywhere there are author- ized tags and seasons. T h e Rocky Mountain goat raffle win- ner will be able to hunt from September 1 to October 31 anywhere there are authorized seasons and tags. The prong- horn raffle winner will be able to hunt from August 1 to October 31 anywhere there are author- ized seasons and tags. All big game raffle tags are in addition to general season and con- trolled hunt tags. Ticket prices for deer hunts are $4 for one ticket, $11 for six, $21 for 15, $51 for 40 and $101 for 100. Elk raffle tickets are $6 for one, $21 for six, $41 for 15 and $101 for 40. Combi- nation deer and elk hunt tickets are one for $11, six for $31, 15 for $61 and 40 for $151. Bighorn sheep, Rocky Moun- tain goat, and pronghorn raffle tickets are $11 for one, $51 for six, and $101 for 13. ing/auctions_raffles/>. Purchased tickets must be filled out and returned to ODFW to be officially entered in the drawing. The point-of- sale deadline for purchasing tickets is May 5, 2006. Mail or- ders must be postmarked no later than May 13, 2006. Raffle to 6:30 p.m. Funds from the deer and elk r a ffle are distributed through Access and Habitat Program grants to individual and corpo- rate landowners, sport/conser- vation organizations and others to fund wildlife habitat improve- ment and hunter access proj- ects throughout Oregon. Mon- ey raised from the bighorn sheep, Rocky Mountain goat, and pronghorn raffle is used for the research and management of those species. How about a tax-deductible gift? Packages of up to 15 tickets may be purchased at any ODFW point-of-sale license vendor through May 10, 2006. Access and Habitat Program Deer and Elk Raffle Ti c k e t packages of 40 and 100 must be purchased by mail or fax through ODFW’s Salem office, 3406 Cherry Ave. NE, Salem, OR 97303 by May 5, 2006. The winning tickets will be drawn at the 23rd Annual Ore- gon Hunters Association State Convention, to be held in Lin- coln City on May 20, 2006. Raf- fle tickets will also be on sale at the convention from 5:00 p.m. for seniors, emergency shelter for those in abusive relation- ships, and much more.
