The organizing team has de cided to stay with their late April date on the Rally America Championship calendar, and have set April 21-23 for the 2006 event. The 2006 rally will again be run from Hillsboro, with com petitors facing the challenge of northwest Oregon forest roads. Next year will mark the “pass ing of the torch” for the role of event chairman. Matt Tabor, who was assis tant chairman for the 2005 event, will fill the position being vacated by former Chairman Ben Bradley. “Ben has led the Oregon Trail Rally event from success to success over the last six years. We are all grate ful for his dedication and lead ership,” Tabor said. “My plan is to build on these successes and solidify the Oregon Trail Rally as one of the premier ral ly events in the United States." Next year’s event will follow the familiar format of spectator stages in the heart of the city at Portland International Raceway on Friday, followed by both fa miliar and newer stages in the forest roads west of Hillsboro. Additional information on the 2006 event will be posted on the event website, <http://www. oregontrailrally.com>, as fur ther details become available. r - 1 1 - 1 1 j 5=11 • Carnival Opens at Noon Each Day W e d n e s d a y , J u ly 2 O t h • FREE for Seniors all day!
