Prior to the regular agenda
for their November 15 meeting,
the Vernonia City Council held

and wallcovering needs. James
Parker and Harry Drury started
Modern Design this past April,
after working for others for 23
and 20 years, respectively.
Said Parker, “After painting
for others for years, we decided
to start our own business, to be
our own leaders, so to speak.”
Parker and Drury have worked
together, off and on, for over 14
years.
Their experience shows,
when Parker says that painting
a 30-story building or a kitchen,
it’s all the same. Most of us
w ouldn’t compare the two, but
that’s the level of confidence
and knowledge in this partner
ship.

Parker said, “Our satisfaction is

you to do the work’, then hear
