The INDEPENDENT, August 5, 2004 Vernonia Police Department July 12 – Investigated Sex Abuse complaint; report sent to Columbia County Juvenile Dept. July 13 – Christopher Serafin, no age or town given, arrested for Menacing and Unlawful Posses- sion of a Firearm; take to CCSO jail. July 17 – Leslie L. Ferring, no age or town given, arrested for DUII; taken to CCSO jail. July 21 – Took report of cell phone stolen out of vehicle parked at Senior Center. July 26 – Assisted a California Vernonia Justice Court agency on a Child Abuse investi- gation. – Took report of window broken out of a vehicle. July 27 – Eric Lawhead, no age or town given, arrested on two Washington County warrants. – Fawn C. Barrett, no age or town given, cited for Nogotiating Bad Check at two businesses in Vernonia. July 31 – MIP, alcohol; report sent to Columbia County Juvenile Dept. July 13, 2004 Kathy Janice Wolfe, 56, Ver- nonia, guilty of 3rd Degree Theft and Practice Nail Tech. w/o Li- cense; 1 yr bench probation, $379 FF&A. Page 19 Wheels and Wings in Scappoose The first Wheels and Wings Weekend will take place Au- gust 14 and 15 at Scappoose Airport. There will be an Open Event, a Burn Off Contest, Slow Drags, a parade, music by DJ Lamborghini Mike, live music by Pictured Windows on Saturday night, food, work- shops, dash plaques and tro- phies. Presented by Columbia Community Television, of St. Helens, the entry fee for cars is $35 pre-registered or $40 at the gate. Motorcycle entry is $25. The fee includes one din- ner or one breakfast.
