Senior Center seeks volunteers
The Vernonia Senior Center
would like help setting up a
Community Volunteer Service.
This Service needs people
who may need help; and ones
who would be willing to help.
The service would be local
only; food, Vernonia Clinic. No
chores.
The Center is willing to open
its doors to anyone without
heat.
Vernonia has always been a
wonderful “help your neighbor”
community. Let’s come togeth-
er to provide these services.
To sign up, call the Senior
Center at 503-429-3912, Dave
and Rosie at 503-429-4230 or
Necia at 503-429-5932.

Paul Linnman, co-anchor of
Library Week
How many overdue library
books or videos do you have
tucked away? Now is the time
to start searching for them.
Due to the large number of
books out of circulation, the
Vernonia Public Library will
offer an amnesty period during
National Library Week, April 18
– 24. During this period books,
and other library materials, can
be returned and all fines
accrued will be waived.
So, search your house for
those overdue items, and turn
them in to the library next week
so others can enjoy them. It
won’t cost you a thing!
Poems to be
read on April 17

and join others at the “Read

sored by Hands On Art and the

these amazing people, as well
as other people and events he
has covered as a television
