Jan. 19 – Anna C. Reinsch, 27, Vernonia, cited for negotiating a bad check. – Took a call about a death occurring at 1st Ave. residence. – Personal items and tools stolen from van on Riverside Dr. Jan. 20 – Welfare check on Rose Ave. based on call from family member. Office broke down door when resident called for help. Resident had fallen in bathtub and been there all day. EMS deter- mined resident just had bruises and scrapes. Jan. 21 – Responded to Bridge St. on call that car had been running for about 3 hours. Ignition switch housing was destroyed and window would not roll up. Someone had attempted to steal vehicle. – Bridge St. merchant reported receiving two bad checks, one NSF and one on a closed account. Jan. 23 – Robert Hohlfeld, 47, Vernonia, warrant arrest; taken to CCSO jail. Jan. 27 – John Kevin Walker, 40, Vernonia, warrant arrest including Felony Parole Violation; taken to CCSO jail. – Robert C. Lignell, 18, St. Helens, arrested after sentencing at Vernonia Justice Court; taken to CCSO jail. – Nathan R. Riley, 18, Vernonia, arrested after sentencing at Vernonia Justice Court; taken to CCSO jail. Jan. 27 – Steven Raymond Palmer, 16, Vernonia, cited for MIP Tobacco. – Kyle Anthony Smith, 17, Vernonia, cited for MIP Tobacco. Jan. 28 – David J. Marsh, 19, Vernonia, cited for PCS of less than oz. of marijuana. – Investigation started of nuisance abatement at Riverside Dr. residence. – Assisted DHS in taking a child into protective custody from River- side Dr. residence due to living conditions at the home.
