SIEDELMAN Jennie Elizabeth Siedelman, 85, Vernonia, died January 11, 2004. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Monday, January 19 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vernonia. A Funeral Mass will be held January 20 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s, with Fa- ther Joseph Browne, CSC, Priest Mod- erator, officiating assisted by Pastoral Associate Juanita Dennis. Interment will follow at Vernonia Memorial Ceme- tery. Family and friends are invited to a reception in the Parish Center following the burial rites. Mrs. Siedelman was born July 10, 1918, in Buxton to Peter and Julia C. (Bell) Felong. She was raised and edu- cated at Top Hill. In 1948, she married John J. Siedel- man in Roy. They made their home on the Siedelman family homestead until 1962, when they moved to their home on Pebble Creek Road. She worked as a cook for Oregon- American Lumber Company at Camp Olson and Camp McGregor, then later worked at the Pine Cone Restaurant in Vernonia. She was a homemaker for many years. Mrs. Siedelman was a charter member of the Vernonia Ridge Riders Saddle Club and an active volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1986, and by a sister, Em- ilie Siedelman. Survivors include a daughter, Rose Marie Ruehmann; a son, David D. and a sister, Irene Siedelman, all of Vernon- ia; nieces and nephews. JANET FIELDS Janet Louise Fields, 69, Imnaha, died January 10, 2004. Services will be held January 17 in Enterprise, followed by private interment at the Prairie Creek Cemetery in Joseph. Mrs. Fields was born June 16, 1934, to Marion and Emilie Siedelman. She grew up in Vernonia and graduat- ed from Vernonia High School in 1952. In 1952, she married Jim Fields. They made their home in Imnaha. She was a homemaker and spokesperson for the Wallowa County Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Survivors include her husband; a son, Benny of Imnaha and Ardmore, Okla.; a sister, Nancy Temple of Salem; a brother, Don Siedelman of Imnaha; nieces and nephews. Remembrances are suggested to a charity of choice. The Bollman Funeral Home in En- terprise is in charge of arrangements. GERALD L. “ZEEK” REYNOLDS Gerald L. “Zeek” Reynolds, 77, Portland, died December 31, 2003. Services were held January 6 at Willamette National Cemetery. Mr. Reynolds was born July 11, 1926, in Vernonia. He moved to Port- land in 1932. He served in the Army during World War II. In 1953, he married Shirley Bur- naugh. He was a house mover, most recently for Emmert International. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Reynolds. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sandi Hall, Deborah Nigra and Kelley Yaws; a sister, Betty Jones; 10 grandchldren; six great-grandchildren. Remembrances are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Lincoln Memorial was in charge of arrangements. NORMAN A. NORTH Norman A. North, 79, Portland, died December 25, 2003. A memorial serv- ice was held January 2 at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church in Portland. Mr. North was born June 24, 1924, in Buxton. He graduated from Benson High School and Lewis & Clark College. In 1950, he married Myrtis Pearce. He worked as a benefits adjudicator for the Veterans Administration. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sharon North, Pam Snod- grass and Sandra Hanks; a son, Brian; three sisters, Hazel Corning, Ruth Durr and Ruby Staples; five grandchildren. Remembrances are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Holman’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. CAROLE ANN HEEGLE Carole Ann Heegle, 61, Vernonia, died December 29, 2003. A Celebration of Life was held January 3 at the Jen- nings-McCall Center in Forest Grove, with Pastor Joel Stith officiating. Mrs. Heegle was born March 23, 1942, in Tacoma, Washington, to Dou- glas and Margaret (Rouse) Elms. She was raised and graduated from high school in San Leandro, Calif. She worked at Owens Illinois Glass Compa- ny in Calif. for 13 years. In 1980, she married Butch Heegle. The traveled throughout the Midwest, settling in Vernonia in 1995. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Rose Nadeau. Survivors include her husband; a son, Tony Pate of Vernonia; six daugh- ters, Tammy Nadeau of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Toni Heegle and Nikki Heegle, both of Las Vegas, Nevada, Teri Schwend and Michele Phillips, both of Tillamook, and Tonya Heegle of Vernon- ia; two sisters, Janet Haskins of Canby and Sue Peterson of Woodland, Calif.; two brothers of Tacoma, Wash.; two half-sisters of Tacoma, Wash.; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. MARIE RIEBEN HOUGH Marie Rieben Hough, 86, Beaver- ton, died December 23, 2003. A Cele- bration Memorial of Life was held Janu- ary 4 at Christ United Methodist Church in Portland with the Rev. In 1945, she married Gerald W. Hough. They lived in New York, Wash- ington and Montana before settling in Portland in 1961. She was preceded in death by a sis- ter, Naomi. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Carol Lenard of Albu- querque, N.M. and Susan O’Connor of Portland; two sons, Larry R. of Portland and James J. of North Bend; 10 grand- children. Remembrances are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1311 NW 21st Ave., Portland, OR 97209. Forest Grove Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements. MARTHA FELDT Martha Feldt, 92, Cornelius, died December 28, 2003. Funeral services were held January 8 with Pastor Larry Knox, Valley Harvest Church in Hills- boro, officiating. Graveside service and interment were at Fir Lawn Memorial Park in Hillsboro. Mrs. Feldt was born September 10, 1911, in Biel, Switzerland, to Emil and Rosa (Michael) Minger. She moved to the U.S.A. in 1922, settling in the Scofield area outside Vernonia. In 1929, she married Edward W. Feldt. They made their home in Cor- nelius. She worked at Brooks Nursery for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters. Survivors include one son, Harley of Bend; one brother, Charley Minger of Salem; two grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren. Donelson, Sewell & Mathews Mor- turary in Hillsboro was in charge of arrangements. Grove, died January 5, 2004. Private interment will be held. Mr. Meeker was born March 28, 1912, in Harrison, Sioux County, Ne- braska, to Glen and Florence (Skillings) Meeker. He was raised and educated in Wisconsin, moving to Oregon in 1924, then back to Wis., a year later. He at- tended St. Paul Bible School in Minn. In 1936, he married Frances Lov- gren. They made their home in Min- nesota, moving to Portland in 1939 and to Forest Grove in 1947. In 1981, they moved to Bay City. His wife died in 1989. He moved back to Forest Grove in 1990. He married Gwen Sherrell in 1991. He worked as a master carpenter and teacher until retiring in 1975. He was preceded in death by four brothers. Survivors include his wife; one son, Chuck of Forest Grove; one daughter, Coleen Salo of Tillamook; two step- daughters, Gai Stewart of Banks and Paula Nutt of Hillsboro; two brothers, Bob and Milo, both of Hillsboro; two sis- ters, Jennie Hickman of Silverton and Gladys Milner of Canby; six grandchil- dren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. STEVEN R. DUDLEY Steven R. Dudley, 55, Tigard, died December 27, 2003. A service was held January 10 in Christ the King Lutheran Church in Tigard. Mr. Dudley was born May 30, 1948, in Portland and raised in Corvallis. He graduated from Oregon State Universi- ty. He moved to Banks in 1987 and most recently lived in Tigard. He owned Northwest Power Solutions. Survivors include a son, Matthew; a daughter, Sarah; a stepdaughter, Kaysi Hunsaker; and a brother, Leland. Pegg Paxson & Springer was in charge of arrangements.
