Page 26 T h e IN D E P E N D E N T, Ju n e 5, 2003 public notice K BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR COLUMBIA COUNTY, OREGON REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS to Serve on the Columbia County Elderly and Disabled Special Transportation Fund Advisory Committee The Board ol County Commissioners is re questing interested persons to volunteer to serve on its Special Transportation Fund (STF) Advisory Committee The purpose of the STF Advisory Committee is to advise and assist the Board in financing and im proving transportation programs and serv ices for the elderly and disabled residents of Columbia County. To be qualified to serve on the STF Adviso ry Committee, the volunteer must: 1. Reside within the boundaries of the County; and must be 2. (A) A person who is an elderly or dis abled individual and uses transportation services in the County; (B) A person who is an elderly or dis abled individual and lives in an area of the County where there are no public trans portation services; (C) An individual engaged in provid ing transportation services to the elderly or disabled in the County; (D) A representative of elderly individ uals; or (E) A representative of disabled indi viduals. The STF Advisory Committee shall review the distribution of moneys by the Board and may propose any changes to the policies or practices of the Board relating ,0 the distri bution that the committee considers neces sary or desirable.
